About me.
From as far back as I can recall, I was (and still am) completely obsessed with animals. I loved observing them, interacting with them, looking at pictures of them, and drawing them. As a child I would spend most of my time drawing. This continued more or less until I went to art college at the age of 16...and then it stopped! I am not sure why; perhaps because I was guided to use other mediums or try out styles I was not so interested in. Although I had a wonderful time at art college I switched to do 'A' levels and my career took me in a totally different direction - one that nobody really expected - least of all me! Anyway, a couple of years ago and over 30 years since leaving art college, I took up my pencils again and drew our beautiful white German Shepherd dog, Budi. Drawing gave me such calm, I was soon doing it whenever I got a spare moment. I particularly relish the challenge of capturing the personality of my muse in my portraits.
I was delighted when friends started asking me to capture their pets, and finally decided to take the leap and develop the combination of my passions, animals and drawing, into a second career.
In 2023 I joined PACS (Petersfield Arts and Crafts Society) and in the summer exhibited some of my work for the first time. I was delighted to receive a 'Highly Commended'!
